Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Jenn at Books and a Beat. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page (some times you need more than two for it to make sense).
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers
Book 3 of 5 in my road to Canada Reads series. This one has been a bit of a struggle to get through. I'm finding the writing a bit difficult to settle into. With 60% of the book left to go, I just hope I make it. Here are my teasers:
"When her dad left, she did not think (at the time) that it was for the best. She feels a pain in her throat whenever she thinks about her dad. It is nothing like the pain in her chest that she gets when she thinks about her mother. It's like the difference between a penny dropped in a puddle and a riptide." Loc 363
What are you reading this week? Leave your teaser link below so I can check it out.
I do like the teaser. I hope you begin to enjoy the book more as you finish reading it. My teaser this week comes from Dragon's Fire by Anne McCaffrey and Todd McCaffrey. I'm trying to finish this series by reading the books I missed when they were new. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I just hope I can get through it.
DeleteGetting into a series that has been out for a while is always tough. Best of luck!
Bummer that you're struggling. I usually just give up.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying hard not to since it's one of the shortlisted books for Canada Reads. Was hoping to do a summary post and prediction before the winner is chosen March 24. It is looking like I may have to tap out soon though...
DeleteGreat descriptive writing. Good luck with the rest of the book. :-)

Thank you Sherry!
DeleteThat's an interesting narrative style. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get into the book, but I hope you manage to finish it (although if you're struggling, perhaps it's just better to stop?)
ReplyDeleteMy teaser is from The Grace of Kings by Ken Liu
